(5.3% English make from 500 ml bottle) This winter warmer, comes in slightly stronger than the normal bitter in the Fuller’s range, but below both the ESB and 1845. The body was a chestnut-brown color with tan head exuding rich malty tones in appearance. The smell confirmed the malts (crystal malts), though mild. Its taste was two-fold, and enjoyable. The first taste was that of malts and a mild nuttiness, while the second flavor to come through was a dry, English hopped finish. This hoppy finish is owing to the target, challenger and north down hops. Overall, it tasted rich and had a mild bubble to it to bring through a well-balanced warming winter ale.
Overall, another enjoyable bottled beer from the Fuller’s Brewery of Chiswick.
